Welcome Nora Lewis, our D-SIP Intern

By

Amtheyst Floyd

Nora comes to us through the University of Michigan Development Summer Internship Program (D-SIP.) Forty nonprofits applied for four available interns, so we are very lucky to have her! Nora hales from Long Island, NY, and is a Junior majoring in public policy and minoring in art history. She is passionate about policies targeting poverty and income inequality, which is part of what attracted her to working with Friends In Deed this summer. Her community mindset also inspired her to become a member of Roosevelt, a campus organization focused on drafting policy about local issues such as housing, the environment, and elections. Nora is a gifted writer (see her article on transportation in this issue) and writes music reviews for the Michigan Daily. In her free time, Nora likes to make art and be outside in nature.
